There are some really good points on that thread and boy it got one or two hits
since you either left the organisation or started to objectively examine wts doctrine.

As I continued to study I came to recognise a core of "spiritual experience" from the authors of the books of the bible, but could also see that it would be difficult to retain the idea that it was personally dictated by God. The only thread that seems to come through is that God acts personally and individually in people's lives and that. being a subjective experience, people have a habit of interpreting it in a variety of ways and recording it accordingly. Years later, I also continue to have an active "mystical" life, which validates my original "experience".
Yep - I can relate to that.
An active mystical life certainly helps keep a persons faith ticking along nicely.
BTW Littletoe, I don't know if you remember the LONG thread a while ago regarding my friends unusual experiences - well, they are still happening
these last 2 months have been the worst of my life.
i can only answer my subject question by saying the purpose of life is the 4 things sought after in the wizard of oz: love, courage, intelligence, and home.. and we all possess them whether we know it or not.
and especially love.
A good friend of mine just got back from "rehab" for alcohol abuse and anxiety related problems. The course was 3 weeks long and a residential scheme.
Although his problems are still there, he found the whole experience rejuvenating and has come out the other side with a smile on his face.
I wish you the same.
I suffer from depression and used to be addicted to medication. It took me a few months to break the medication cycle and now I am out the other side and have learnt to live using nature's herbs instead and a (relatively) healthy diet.
I'm sure if you wrestle and find a focus you will pull through.
Regards
Simon
got this update today from back in wisconsin.. a dub lady's daughter who rebelled when she hit her teens produced two bi-racial children by different fathers.
the dub lady was raising these children and when they were preschoolers she put them into foster care, being that their mother was not about to straighten herself out and be a mother.
now the children have been adopted by a lesbian couple who are providing a loving stable home for these unwanted children.
Trouble is - the more I say, the more I will be flogged to death
I am focusing on my "ideal" - not the topsy-turvey moral standards of this broken world.
I'd rather promote the model I feel safe with, than promote a standard I cannot whole heartedly endorse.
I am not the kind of person to pick up a bat and pound a homosexual in a dark alley btw - I am a fair minded and relatively tolerant person, but I do have standards that I try to stick to.
That's it, feel free to beat me with a stick people. I won't add to this thread, as I don't want a war on my hands.

Just to make myself unpopular - I prefer seeing a male & a female raising a child/children.

I don't believe we've been to the moon
I believe we have the capability to go to the moon, with ease... and beyond.
I am assuming you are challenging 1969 as the first moon landing?

Uh... there isn't a shred of evidence that a worldwide flood ever happened. *hello, McFly*
Spose it depends what you want - many ancient folk tales, or hard concrete evidence
It is still a possibility.
if you had a choice of any special power what would it be...?
(only allowed one)
Rather than have to travel physically to a destination, instead displace time & space and appear where I choose.
I could then travel to any place on this wonderful planet in a moment.
(apparently this is theoretically possible and is currently being puzzled over behind closed doors )
